Fees

Specialist Referals

Your Doctor can deal with a wide range of medical problems. However, occasionally a Specialist referral is necessary. A referral letter from your Doctor is needed to receive a Medicare rebate for the Specialist visit. Please note that we are not permitted by law to backdate specialist referrals and appointments are required for all referals.

Medical Certificates

These can only be obtained after consultation with your Doctor and only for genuine illnesses. It is not legal to backdate medical certificates.

Communication/Telephone Policy:

Our aim is to keep interruptions to consultations to a minimum. Please advise the Receptionist of the nature of your call and if necessary the message will be relayed to your Doctor via our internal message facilty. Staff will only interrupt a consultation if the matter is urgent.

Repeat Prescriptions

An appointment must be made for all repeat prescriptions for review and management of your medical condition.

Worker's Compensation

Fees for work related injuries must be paid at time of consultation. It is the responsiblilty of the patient and the employer to submit a claim by forwarding the necessary forms to Workcover Queensland.

Reminder System

Our practice is committed to preventative care . We have a reminder system in place which offers preventative health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to receive routine reminders please inform the Practice Manager.

Test Results

Your Doctor will advise you at the time of consultation on how to obtain the results of any tests requested. Generally results will not be discussed over the phone. You will be contacted if there are any abnormal results.

Management of patient health information

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.
